We remember Gazi Ataturk with gratitude
18 March 2025 / Saat: 16:19
The victory at Çanakkale on March 18, 1915, which was a major turning point in the history of Turkey and the world, heralded the birth of the flame of independence and freedom that later spread throughout the country during the War of Independence, as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades did not allow the enemy to pass.

The victory at Çanakkale is a magnificent example of the unity and solidarity that our nation demonstrated by coming together from all over the country, regardless of ethnicity and religion, to defend the homeland. In this victory, our nation demonstrated not only heroism, courage and love for the country, but also the mercy it showed to its enemy even on the battlefield, setting an example for all of humanity.

The extraordinary struggles that took place in the Gallipoli Wars are too great to be written down in history, as the national poet Mehmet Akif Ersoy emphasized in his poem “To the Martyrs of Gallipoli”. If today we live under our flag in peace and security, without being under anyone’s yoke, then this is our duty to our martyrs and veterans who gave their lives for our sacred homeland.

With these feelings and thoughts, we celebrate the 110th anniversary of the Victory at Çanakkale and once again remember Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and our martyrs with mercy and gratitude.
