As is known, the decision in question was taken due to the closure of the Chamber of Deputies and the increasing importance of Ankara within the scope of our National Struggle against attempts to occupy our homeland. Thus, the principle that sovereignty will belong to the nation unconditionally and unreservedly was put into practice.
Such a governance style, which targets the ideas and contributions of every segment of society and where decisions are made with the will of the nation, has undoubtedly enabled children to grow up better and generations with free ideas and free consciences to develop.
It is no coincidence that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who attached great importance to education so that our nation could reach a strong, developed and prosperous future in every sense, dedicated this meaningful day to children. This date is not limited to Turkish children only, it has become an important date for all children and nations of the world.
With these feelings and thoughts, as RTİB, we celebrate April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day with our most sincere feelings, and we remember Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his comrades-in-arms, our heroes and martyrs with gratitude and respect.
