On yet another June 3rd, our great poet Nazım Hikmet is being commemorated in Moscow with both a ceremony at his grave and a concert. At the graveside ceremony, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Moscow, Tanju Bilgiç, also gave a speech and laid flowers at Nazım's grave.

The first speaker, Recep Hakkı, General Manager of the Russian-Turkish Business Association (RTIB), said, "Nazım Hikmet was not just a poet. He was a thinking, questioning, and extremely productive intellectual. The fact that his works are read in more than fifty languages is an indication that he was a universal voice."

Ali Galip Savaşır, President of the Moscow Nazım Hikmet Culture and Arts Foundation, stated, "Nazım was a poet who transcended national boundaries. He belonged to humanity, freedom, hope, and love. He never gave up or surrendered in his life; despite everything, he maintained his belief in life."

Türkiye's Ambassador to Moscow, Tanju Bilgiç, also spoke at the ceremony, saying, "Nazım Hikmet was not only a great poet, but also a compassionate person who built bridges between cultures. Commemorating him in Moscow means upholding one of the most valuable symbols of cultural dialogue between Turkey and Russia." The ceremony concluded with participants placing carnations on the grave and a group photo session.
